In 1990 Grand Master Abid felt the need of teaching self defense to women so that they can be self dependent and with the help of then Commissioner of Police Mr Ramalingam, Addl Commissioner of Police Mr S Mariswamy and DCP crime Mr Khalil Ur Rehman, started training women and young girls in self defense, which was highly appreciated by the media.
The recent case of rape of an Indian woman on a bus, who later died due to several internal injuries have shaken the entire country. The very thought that a woman can be raped in a modern metro and the capital of India, New Delhi, while she is travelling with a male companion, has induced fear in the hearts of Indian women. The ever growing cases of molestation, rape, harassment, abduction in recent times has made women a vulnerable section not just physically but emotionally and mentally resulting in restricted participation of women in various fields.
Women do not ask for, cause, invite, or deserve to be assaulted. Women and men sometimes exercise poor judgment about their safety, but that does not make them responsible for any attack. Attackers are responsible for their attacks and their use of violence to overpower, abuse and control another human being. Self defense instill confidence in you that if someone is not respecting your boundaries, you have the ability to stop and teach them a lesson.
Self defense is a life skill which every woman should acquire to make their own and others lives safer on a daily basis or whenever the situation demands. Women often become victims because of their physical ability. Self defense techniques enable them to take control of situations which may end up in being a victim of verbal abuse, physical attack etc.
Our self defense training programme is specially designed for women and young girls keeping in mind the physical ability and the various types of assault/crime. We teach you how to overpower a person with the use of minimal strength and tackle single/ multiple opponents in any kind of situation. Also, in providing
desired mental and emotional strength and balance to tackle any such situation in person or in general.
